The hyper link is still there. Probably will be forever. Buried in the HTML till the web freezes over. Of you open my page you can
still see it there, underlined text in blue. A written name
floating on the dull gray background. Clean Bold Arial, 14 pts high
and beautiful. By far the best link on the whole
page. If you look closely you can see the gentle
curves of the font, clear on the outside, soft and warm where the letters
open up. A link to another… place/page/world. It still works, the hyper link. Move
over it and the hard sharp pointer changes into a hand, a soft hand, a gentle
hand pointing to a site other then this… pages that are far off in another
place, another server all together. Once… in a time that is steadily growing farther away… to click
it, the hyper link, was to shoot off like a rocket
into space. Windows opening and closing, systems working
hard to make the needed changes, views and resolution shimmering into new and
wonderful realities. A new kind of site, modern in
design and antique in content. A fully featured and
interactive site with a colored background and flowing text. Animation flashing and sound effects washing over the screen.
But it was also a different kind of site, a deeper
site It was, with a sense of profound that hasn’t been seen for ages on the
world wide web. The kind of site that takes your breath away and pulls you in, deeper and deeper
till the line between virtual and real becomes jagged and fuzzy. A link to
the kind of site that you find once in a life time,
if you are one of the lucky ones that is… That was once… when the web was young and so were the users. Now it’s another hyper link on a white
page. Still wonderful, still beautifully designed. Only now… if you find manage to find my page and click the link… The only thing you find… is …
