Just so you get the whole picture…
This was written quickly on paper… so it wouldn’t be lost
and then slowly typed out so you could enjoy it in the privacy of:
your own home,
your own country,
your own continent,
your own life.
Corner seat.
Sitting here in the corner
looking out

Backed into that corner again
in that same small coffee shop
in a medium sized mall
of a smallish town
in a tiny country
looking out
Trying to understand
what’s been running around in my head
my body
my soul
looking in
Still can’t get over it, Baby
still can’t wash it down
no matter how much beer
no matter how much coffee
still can’t get used to how you make me feel
how you can be so far from here
and how so very close
you are to me
How in the spaces
between the rows of letters
flashing across a light blue screen
I have found a place
for love to begin
a corner to look out from
a place to look in
A place I can go to hide
when the quietness invades the night
eating away at the mask
I use to cover my the face
of who I really am
a stronghold so unsubstantial
it can never fall
for who can defeat
a castle that’s only defense
is that its cyber
and as such
can only be touched
by the will of the people
and the love in their hearts

the bits and parts I see
in the pale blue light
you spread them gently out
so wonderfully deep
so terribly enticing
from so far apart
you drew me in
across the ultra long line
that traces your name in light
every time I see you flash
and took a part of who I am
of what I am
of me
back over land clouds and sea
to a world that I thought
wasn’t mine to wish for
anymore

past the cast iron doors
